• (Jem quality) Rubies are 300 times rarer

• But price is only 1/30th

• Hundreds of middleman (mostly Thai)

  • No one to do the sorting
    Many African and Sri Lankan rubies are deliberately misclassified as Myanmar or Kashmir (similar to Darjeeling)
    
  • No one to do advertising

• Why not a De Beers of rubies?
